Eric Woods Assistant Head Coach
Coach Eric Woods begins his fourteenth year at Callaway High School as the Assistant Athletic Director and Assistant Head Football Coach. Coach Woods is a graduate of the University of West Georgia with a B.A. in English, a master’s degree in Behavior Disorders, an educational specialist degree in Interrelated Special Education. Coach Woods began his coaching career at Hogansville High School in 1993. At Hogansville, Coach Woods spent three years coaching the offensive and defensive lines on the football staff. He also spent time as the Head Golf Coach, an assistant Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach, and Head Coach of the middle school boys and girls basketball teams. Coach Woods was part of the original staff at Callaway in the fall of 1996. During his time at Callaway, Coach Woods has coached the offensive line, defensive line, running backs, and linebackers. He has twice filled the role of offensive coordinator (1999-2001, 2005) and once served as special teams coordinator (2003-2004). Coach Woods started the wrestling program at Callaway and completed nine years at Head Coach of that program (1996-2005). Coach Woods is in his fourth year as assistant athletic director, and he is currently serving a two-year term as president of region 5-AA. Coach Woods is married to the former Crystal Jenkins of Carrollton, Georgia. They have two sons, Keegan and Carson. |
