Head Football Coach

Pete Wiggins is beginning his fifth year as Head Football Coach at Callaway High School. He is a native of Ranburne, Alabama. Coach Wiggins received a Bachelor degree in Physical Education from the University of West Georgia. He then received his master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. There he also received his Specialist degree in Curriculum Development. Coach Wiggins began his coaching career at Highland Home High School (1997-1198). During this time, Highland made an appearance in the state semifinals (1997) and the state quarterfinals (1998). In 1999, Coach Wiggins accepted a position with Murray County High School where he coordinated the strength and conditioning program and coached the offensive line. During this time, the Indians compiled a three year record of 29-8, with a quarter final appearance in 2000. In 2002, Coach Wiggins became a member of the Callaway High School Football Staff where he served as the Offensive Coordinator for three years. In 2005, Wiggins accepted the position as Head Football Coach at Callaway High School. During his time as Head Coach, Callaway has made three playoff appearances. In 2007, Callaway finished second in their region and ended their season with an overall record of 8-3. Last year Coach Wiggins lead the Cavaliers to the first outright0region championship in the schools history. Coach Wiggins is proud of the progress the program has made since he became Head Football Coach. He recognizes the impact of dedication, hard-work, and dependability on the success of a program. Coach Wiggins strives to teach his players the value of good character and work ethic so that they may achieve success on and off the field. Coach Wiggins’ efforts are reinforced by a committed, talented, and eager coaching staff who are together striving to build excellence and tradition at Callaway High School. Coach Wiggins is happily married to the former Amy Griffith of LaGrange. They have three dogs, Abbey, Bailey, and Jake and reside in Hogansville.
