Amy Wiggins, MS, ATC/L, CSCS Athletic Trainer
Amy G. Wiggins begins her fifth year at Callaway High School as the Head Athletic Trainer (2004-2005, 2006-present). Mrs. Wiggins attended Samford University in Birmingham, where she majored in Athletic Training and received a B.S. in Education. After completing her Athletic Training certification requirements, she attended Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, where she worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer while pursuing a master’s degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. During this time, she received her Strength and Conditioning certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. After completing her master’s degree, Mrs. Wiggins returned to her home town of LaGrange and began working part-time at Callaway High School as the Head Athletic Trainer. During this time, she was also employed with Southern Therapy Services of LaGrange. Mrs. Wiggins spent the 2005-2006 school year employed by the Phenix City Board of Education as the Head Athletic Trainer at Central High School and as an elementary physical education teacher at Ridgecrest Elementary School. In 2006, she gladly returned to Callaway High School where she is now employed full-time with the school system as a Certified Athletic Trainer. Additionally, she begins her third year as the women’s health/ physical education teacher at Callaway High School. Mrs. Wiggins is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), the Georgia Athletic Trainers’ Association (GATA), and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). She is happily married to Callaway’s Head Football Coach, Pete Wiggins. They have three dogs, Abbey, Bailey, and Jack and reside in Hogansville. |
